What is Labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is a type of plastic surgery on the labia, either the larger, outer vaginal lips (labia major) or the smaller, inner vaginal lips (labia minor). The surgery is typically done to treat labial hypertrophy, in which the labia are large and/or asymmetrical. Labial hypertrophy may be inherited, or it may be caused by hormonal changes that occur from aging or pregnancy. Weight loss and genital piercing can also lead to the condition. The goal of labiaplasty is to decrease the size of the labia and/or to make them more symmetrical.
